Memorial Day Program Scheduled in Paris

The annual Memorial Day program will be held in Paris on May 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bear Lake Stake Tabernacle. Amos B. Hulme will be the featured speaker. The event honors veterans and current service members and is sponsored by Post No. 8 of the American Legion.

Jan Jaussi Named First Runner-Up At Miss Ricks Pageant

Miss Jan Jaussi of Olympia Washington was named first runner-up to Miss Marlene Sample Miss Ricks of 1969 at Ricks College Rexburg Idaho. Second runner-up was Miss Susan Olpin of Boise. Jaussi is daughter of Harold Jaussi and granddaughter of Mrs Susanna Jaussi of Paris.

Utilities join in building line

Utah Power and Light crews began one of the final links in a 565 mile high voltage transmission artery. The $21 million project runs from the Noxon hydro plant in Montana to the Naughton complex near Kemmerer Wyoming, spanning 75 miles within UP&L territory. The line is a joint effort of five investor owned utilities including Idaho Power and Montana Power.
