Idaho lawmakers led by Rep. Robert Haakenson visited Idaho State Prison unannounced with Lt. Josef Munch, meeting 50 to 60 inmates and guards to assess conditions. They urged a new Board of Corrections, better medical and psychiatric care, training for staff, improved kitchen and welfare, and a cooperative health plan. Weather notes and snowpack data followed, with flood risk tied to March and April patterns.
