Thornock Rites Held Thursday in Bloomington
Funeral services for Lydia Edith Payne Thornock age 67 were held Thursday at 1 00 p m in the Bloomington LDS Ward Chapel. She died Sunday in a Boise hospital and is survived by husband Donald A Thornock three sons Rulon Melvin and Ruben Thornock a daughter Mrs LaRene Barrus and 19 grandchildren two great grandchildren. Interment followed at Bloomington Cemetery with Bishop John Findlay officiating.

Sweet Adelines to Perform in Paris Under Legion Sponsorship
The Pocatello Sweet Adelines a 45 member chorus directed by Morris Butler will perform Saturday night at Bear Lake Jr High auditorium in Paris sponsored by American Legion Post 84. Admission is 1 dollar with Harmony Under the Bigtop featuring two quartettes the Poca Dettes and the Wood n Airs and numbers by the full chorus. The Legion with a 30 member roster aims to boost membership.

Lions clubs in southeastern Idaho plan a Zone Talent Show at Bear Lake High School auditorium. Communities include Montpelier Paris Soda Springs Bancroft and Grace. No age limits or talent categories set. each club will hold its own talent search and enter contestants.

Snow Pack on East Side Reaches Record Water Content
Measurements by Forest Service and Soil Conservation technicians show the snow pack on the head waters of Montpelier Creek reaches record water content since 1965. Upper Home Canyon Snow Course registered 79 inches depth with 25.7 inches of water, near Emigrant Summit Course’s 26.6 inches before last Tuesday’s storm. Lower Home Canyon had 53 inches depth and 15.9 inches water. Four Montpelier Creek courses exceed recent years’ snow water. The Little Beaver Course reports 54 inches depth and 16.2 inches water.

Pfc Chas Piggott Receives Bronze Star for Vietnam Action
Pfc Charles W Piggott was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroism in Vietnam on October 14 1968. While leading through dense jungle near Lai Khe his unit came under heavy fire, he ignored wounds to his safety and delivered suppressive fire to repel the attack aiding the unit and securing the landing zone. He is hospitalized at Fitzsimmons Military Hospital Denver Colorado recovering from wounds and is the son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Piggott of Bloomington.

Dr Edward Rich Dies at Age 100 in Ogden Utah
Funeral services were held in Ogden Utah for Dr Edward I Rich aged 100 last surviving son of Charles C Rich founder of Paris in 1863. Born April 9 1868 he practiced medicine in Ogden for 55 years and was married to Almira Cozzens. He leaves two sons four daughters 29 grandchildren 97 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
