Change of venue granted in murder trial March 10 start

District Judge Francis J. Rasmussen granted a change of venue in the State of Idaho v William P Radabaugh after briefs filed February 5. The order denied a motion to suppress and a writ of habeas corpus. The trial date was set for March 13 at 10:00 am in Bannock County.

Marine Sgt Jim Parks Honorable Discharged After Four Years

Sgt Jim Parks of Liberty received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps on January 31 after four years of service. He trained in San Diego and Camp Pendleton, served 19 months in Vietnam as an Air Controller with the 4th Regiment, 8th Marine Division, and now lives in Utah with his wife Ruth Derricott.

Snow pack water nears all time high in March readings

Measurements from Emigrant Summit and nearby courses show substantial February increases in snow depth and water content. Emigrant Summit reports 84 inches of snow containing 26.8 inches of water, with February growth of 6.2 inches water.

County Red Cross Drive Set to Start in Bear Lake County

The annual Red Cross Drive begins March 3 in Bear Lake County with community captains named by Eldon Cook. Packets went out from Pocatello area Field Director Mrs. Tracy L Swigart. Blood drives exceeded the county quota and bags for Vietnam servicemen were sent by Mrs Verma Lindsay.

Carlsen Named Regional Engineer for 3-State Territory

Roger Jay Carlsen, son of Mr and Mrs Chris N Carlsen of Liberty, has been appointed Regional Engineer for Cast Iron Pipe Research Association. He will assist water utilities and sanitary engineering consultants in Arizona, Nevada, and southern California with expert advice, lectures, and student demonstrations. He is a Utah State University civil engineering graduate who previously worked for California State Water Resources, Rob ert A Grant, and Boeing. He is married to Patricia Benson and they have three children. His base will be Sunset, Utah, until early summer when he will move to Cast Iron Pipe News territory.
