Pioneer dairyman John Weston charts early struggles to build 4-H dairy success

A Logan newspaper recounts John H. Weston of Bear Valley overcoming weather and travel hardships starting in 1924. He bought a Salt Lake City herd, guided it to Montpelier and Sage station amidst a 40 degree below zero journey, and later built a purebred herd. In 1931 he earned Farm Bureau recognition for leadership while his son Arlo joined in dairy improvement with Extension Service, yielding over 40 pounds of butterfat per cow per month.
