The Bear Lake Rangers held their 10th annual rodeo and horse show with 13 classifications on Wednesday including pony, pleasure, mare halter and stock horse events. A parade at noon and a 2 pm rodeo presented by Grant Irving and Bud Loyd featured the Montpelier Riding Club Posse Square Dance team. burglars gained access to the Downey State Bank vault using a ladder and ventilation space. They used sledgehammers and crowbars to steal about $2700 in silver and targeted 15 to 20 safety deposit boxes with unknown total value. An inside vault attempt failed due to a time lock. FBI, county officers and Pocatello police are investigating after Monday discovery. A separate Malad break in at Oneida County Grain Growers damaged a vault and stole $4301.63 in checks and $40 cash, leaving $100 in cash behind.
