Bloomington notes from a weekend of visits and travels. Families from Logan Idaho Falls Rexburg Rigby and Fish Haven share news of siblings, anniversaries, and homecomings. Roosevelt tributes and local church activities appear alongside community updates.
Miss Delia Thurber wed Ross Tippets in the Logan LDS temple on Friday April 13. A cottage meeting at the Smith home featured Mary Sizemore Udell Weaver and others. A son was born to Elwood Payne in Bear Lake hospital. Several local residents visited Soda Springs Pocatello and California, with news of pre induction exams for Harrell Thorne and Ralph Stoddard. The Georgetown High seniors announce their annual Senior Ruff for April 21 with Yank Orchestra.
Miss Gene Perking of Logan visits with Alma and the Perkins family over ten days. Doings include multiple local guests, birthday gatherings, and a Stake Cultural Arts Festival at Wales with Stook and family among attendees. Several Logan and Garden City residents host and travel, with extended family visits, furls from Texas, and community dinners in Garden City and Logan.
Maylan and Chris Lakey of Soda Springs visited Bern on Thursday. Georgetown figures van Hoff and Elder Lester Alleman with Miss Mary Sizemore did missionary work. William R Johnson and daughter Billie with RaNee Hunter of Salt Lake were business visitors. Abbert Miller and Taft of Sharon visited Friday. J Olson of Montpellier and Mra Joy Stelevich of Montpelier also called. Memorial services for Franklin D Roosevelt were held Saturday. Several locals attended Sacrament services in the First ward and Seminary directed the program. Hawley Phelps of Montpelier was a Born visitor Monday. Louis O Tueller Alfred Bischoff and Elmer Krogue also in town. W H Lloyd and Chris Lakey visited Bern Monday. Mrs Buhler and Mrs Buhler went to Logan Monday.
Sgt Robert L Schmid in France writes of meeting Sterling Weaver of Montpelier at an LDS meeting in Paris on April 8. About 50 LIDS boys were present. Sterling Weaver is a son of Mrs Genevieve Weaver of Montpelier. It was the first home visit for Sterling since January four years ago.
Mr L Hymas of Smithfield Utah was a business visitor. Gwen Michaelson of St Charles was weekend guest of Mar Jean Prescott. Primary conference featured program by children with graduates Al Miller Daniel Hymas Keith Hymas Garth Carlsen Marlon Lyon Idell King Twilla Bartschi. Mrs Tim Matthews of Liberty was stake representative. Mrs Calvin Hymas spent weekend at Lake City. Mrs Ida Prescott visited Ogden and Preston. Louise Stucki spent weekend with her parents. Leo Bartschi transported pigs to Ogden Friday.
Josh A Cheney and daughter Ruth Adams visited Sunday. Mrs Wal ae Grangy and children joined on return to Preston Idaho. A birthday party for Mrs Ben Dick was held Saturday night April 7 at Gus Rich lake shore lodge near Ideal Beach with dancing games and chicken supper for Ben Dick James Sharp Clarence Heap and Sgt Melbourne Coombs and Mrs Gene.
The MIA held its closing social in Mutual Tuesday night with games and dancing. Peanuts were served. Pvt Delbert Parker, son of Mr and Mrs Irwin Parker, left for his army base after a ten day furlough. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Glen Christensen of Montpelier Tuesday night. Mrs Christensen was formerly Zola Parker.
