Oswego Nationals 1980 Celebrate Softball’s Peak Moment
Mike McCrobie recalls Oswego hosting the 1980 Amateur Softball Association National Tournament, a 24 team event in men’s class A fastpitch. The city’s volunteers and Fort Ontario complex upgrades, plus strong local support, turned Oswego into a national stage with teams from Sioux City, San Diego, Provo, and Honolulu. The host Mr M's and fan section “The Zoo” provided memorable play and pageantry, crowned by S H Good of Pennsylvania as national champ.
