Volney taps federal funds for two water projects
Volney town officials secured nearly 200000 in federal funds to cover costs on Airport Water District Extension 2 and two more aims that will bring water to about 250 homes. The town has about 2 million invested via grants and USDA loans for mains and infrastructure, with Extension 2 nearing completion for 138 homes along Route 3 and adjacent roads. A separate Area 3 project will serve about 120 homes with 31000 feet of pipe, while Area 4 on Route 57/6 begins now to serve around 130 homes with 19000 feet of pipe. public hearings and final USDA approval loom as costs rise.

The ROC Cycling Group announces the return of the Cross Out Child Abuse Cyclocross Race at Town of Scriba Park on O Connor Road starting 8 30 a m October 4. Proceeds go to Oswego County Child Advocacy Center with a citizen only race limited to 75 riders and multiple categories. Day-of registration available, USA Cycling license required, part of the CNY Cup Cyclocross Points Series.
