Sham cancer charity to close after probe in New York
A breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Survivors Foundation, will shut down nationwide and pay 350000 dollars after an investigation by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. Founded in 2010, it had grown to about 3 million dollars in annual fundraising by 2014 and funneled more than 90 percent of donations to outside fundraiser Gelvan and related entities. The state barred Gelvan from fundraising in 2004 due to a prior probe. The settlement directs 350000 dollars to legitimate breast cancer groups.

End of road for Georgia escapees ends in Tennessee driveway
Georgia prison escapees Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose were captured after a homeowner in Shelbyville, Tennessee held them at gunpoint following a wild chase when the pair hijacked a couple’s Jeep on Interstate 24 southeast of Nashville. The fugitives had carjacked a bus driver and killed two Georgia corrections officers, leading to a large manhunt that ended with their arrest and transfer to Rutherford County jail.
