Woman births after childhood ovarian tissue transplant
A 27 year old woman who had ovarian tissue removed at 13 and frozen before chemotherapy to treat sickle cell anemia has given birth after four fragments were transplanted back. Doctors say the case is the first in which tissue from such a young patient was used, and the child is healthy. The report notes the procedure remains experimental and success beyond the first years is uncertain.

One dose HPV vaccine may protect against cervical cancer
A Lancet Oncology analysis of over 24 000 women suggests a single HPV vaccine dose could provide 77 to 86 percent protection after about four years, potentially transforming global immunization. Researchers caution results are not yet practice-changing and long-term protection remains to be proven.
