Sereno elected Oswego school board president amid budget strain
Oswego City School District unanimously elected Lynda Sereno as board president and swore in two newcomers. Sereno, an Oswego High School graduate, has served since 2012. The district faces a more than 4 million dollar budget deficit for 2016 2017, with Superintendent Dr Goeney warning of cuts to programming and athletics and staff layoffs. Sereno pledged fiscal responsibility and collaboration with the superintendent and unions to address the gap and guide 2017 2018 planning.
