Mexico swimmers shine in meet with three sectional champs
Watertown, Mexico, and Lowville showcased depth at Mexico High School in a dual-style clash. Watertown defeated Mexico 109-77 and Lowville 113-48, while Mexico beat Lowville 130-51 with standout times from John Ocker in the 100 free and Dylan Long in the 500 free. Parkhurst praised the effort after a week with limited activities, noting strong showings across multiple events and relays. Mexico next hosts Oswego on January 2 at 5 p.m.

All-CNY swimmers honored Laura Bornheimer and Alexa Von Holtz
Oswego senior Laura Bornheimer earned All-CNY honors after winning the state qualifier and was named Outstanding Diver at the meet, continuing her school record run. Mexico seventh grader Alexa Von Holtz became the Tigers first female to reach the state meet by winning the Section III Class B 100 yard butterfly title.

Oswego Girls Hockey Split Weekend Contests
The Oswego Bucs defeated Malone 4-1 on Friday then lost 5-3 to Saranac Lake Placid/Saranac on Saturday at Crisafulli Rink. Hannah Koster and Stephanie Kubis starred in the Malone win as Monica Cahill’s wraparound deflected in for the go ahead goal. Kahill and Kubis added scores in a 5-3 defeat to Saranac/Lake Placid, with Whitney Battistoni making 36 saves for the visitors.
