Friends of History in Fulton will sponsor the public event at the J W Pratt House with L C Smith Collectors Association displays and shooting contests at Pathfinder Fish and Game Club. Family Fun Day at Richardson Bates House August 21
Oswego residents invited to a 2 to 4 PM Family Fun Day at 135 E Third St. featuring games such as a duck pond and croquet, prize drawings, an interactive Aesops Fables performance, face painting, ice cream sundaes, lemonade and iced tea. Tours of the Richardson Bates House Museum will run, with proceeds to the museum budget. In case of rain the event moves to August 28.

Visit to the Kitts Shipyard near Oswego Port
Maritime historian Richard Palmer notes the Kitts shipyard on Oswego’s east riverbank supports about 200 workers in ship and boatbuilding. A 138 foot vessel, valued at 22 000 dollars when launched, was sold for 13 000 dollars to A G Cook. Tornado tug and Lady Franklin with updated machinery stand by as more vessels and boats await repairs or launch.

Fiddle Concert Set for Sunday at Fiddlers Hall of Fame
Camden fiddler Sheena Sullivan Britton will perform old time fiddle music Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame and Museum in Osceola. She is joined by Camden musicians Jessie Gotham, Bob Abrams and Allan Chrysler, with funding support from the New York State Council on the Arts.
