New York OKs Health Insurance Rate Hikes for 2017
New York regulators approved health insurance rate hikes for 2017 with about 8 percent to small group plans and nearly 17 percent for individual plans. The Department of Financial Services cited rising costs and the end of the federal reinsurance program, noting overall increases are about one quarter less than insurers proposed. Rates take effect January 1, affecting over 1 million small-group enrollees and about 350,000 on the individual market.
