The Mirror on the Wall and the Mountain Cabin Tale
Aunt Lizzie and Mary keep a sick boy Sammie in a mountain shack. Mary, obsessed with a cosmetic beauty, hopes to buy a tonic that could save him, while a doctor warns of danger. Sammie dies. Mary clings to vanity, wounds herself, and ends by gazing into the cracked mirror, now scarred by truth.
