Red Cross Meeting Outlines County Health Campaign

Oxford citizens hear Dr. W. S. Leathers on a planned health drive with Red Cross officials. Home Service has 647 cases since Feb 10 1918 and $194 loaned to soldiers or families. A worker will visit every county location before Christmas to engage children with stories music and candy making. Junior Red Cross formed at Oxford schools and clothing for refugees in France and Belgium is prepared for shipment.

Oxford High Students Close Armistice Day Program

On Armistice Day 1919 Oxford High School held a chapel program with student speakers discussing the day's significance. Activities included a superintendent led discussion, a brief reading from David's prayer, and a Junior Red Cross campaign report showing about 75 percent enrollment. A half holiday was declared at noon and October honor roll will be published next week.
