Slattery seeks sixth term in expanded Kansas district
U S Representative Jim Slattery filed for a sixth two year term as a Democrat in Kansas. Two Republicans, Dick Nichols and Jim Van Slyke, announced plans to challenge in the Aug. 4 primary. Nichols’ old 5th District was split between the 2nd and 4th districts, while Slattery said voters face changes in government and will back his bid after he explains past banking and budget votes.
