BlueStem sets tone in Country Summer Jamboree at Ottawa Auditorium

BlueStem performs its plastic music blending bluegrass and old-time styles at a 7 p.m. concert in Ottawa Auditorium as part of OMA’s Country Summer Jamboree. The group, hosting Good Time Radio Revue on KANU, has 12 years on the road and several recordings. Tickets cost 7 for adults and 3.50 for youths. seating is reserved. Street Fest registrations speed toward July event in Ottawa

Ottawa area artists and craftsmen race to register for booths in the July 11 Street Fest downtown. The third annual event promises entertainment, sidewalk sales and concessions to boost downtown Ottawa. Weekend horse show opens 4-H circuit in Franklin County

Franklin County Fair opens its horse show this weekend with about 75 4-Hers competing in 10 a m show classes on Saturday and races on Sunday at the fairgrounds south arena. Judge Frank Buchman of Alta Vista leads the event as rules mirror last year with halter, English, trail, western riding and reining divided into multiple divisions. Concessions will be available both days and the public is invited.
