Hart works as a dairy herd improvement supervisor for Douglas Franklin Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He identifies calves, records feed, tests milk butterfat, keeps cow histories, and notes breeding and calving. Since 1947 he tests dozens of herds, handles 70 cows per destination, and relies on milk meters and Babcock tests to deliver monthly reports to dairymen.
