Study Killer Satellite System Defense In Space
AP reports the Defense Department will study a killer satellite system to intercept inspect and destroy hostile space vehicles. The Air Force invites proposals May 26 with at least three firms to run competitive studies and testing could start next year aiming for a 1975 or 1976 launch. If built, interceptors could fly with alien spacecraft and destroy or disable it perhaps by a death ray. The piece also covers ongoing U S delegate counts for the Democratic National Convention with McGovern leading and others trailing.
