Court To Study Status Of Family Farm Act
Kansas Attorney General Robert T. Stephan said the Kansas Supreme Court should rule by October on the constitutionality of the 1986 Family Farm Rehabilitation Act. He expects September arguments on Washington County District Court’s ruling that the act is unconstitutional and plans continuances in mortgage foreclosure cases pending the high court decision. The act would let farmers delay foreclosure up to three years while restructuring debts. Washington County found five sections unconstitutional on contract sanctity and due process grounds.

Wheat Prices Fuel Farm Index Tumble
