Osceola routs St. Paul 38 to 12 in a homecoming game. Six TDs including passes to Leroy Dinges and big runs by Dick Triba lead the Bulldogs over St. Paul. Triba gains 101 yards on six carries, Bernt adds two scores, and Osceola totals 367 yards. Queen Joyce Jones crowned, Tom Husak named captain as crowd witnesses ceremonies.

Over the past week Osceola suffered several serious incidents. Five residents were hospitalized for injuries or polio like illness including Mrs. Wm. Liskovec and Milan Snodgrass in Omaha for further testing. Eight year old Danny Wieseman and sixteen year old Gerald Johansen received injuries at school and at work, while five year old Lee Roy Miley suffered facial wounds from a dog bite and scratches.

Stromsburg Truck Driver Dies in 25 Foot Plunge
Ernest L. Coufal, 55, was killed when his sand and gravel truck plunged over a 25 foot embankment on Highway 92 near the Polk Merrick county line. He had just delivered gravel and was returning for another load on a temporary access road. He was found dead with no witness to the accident. Surviving are Mrs. Coufal of Stromsburg and two daughters, including Mrs. Robert Burns of Stromsburg.
