The Tilley land west of Osceola and the Gospel Ridge residence were sold at a referee sale in Osceola on Tuesday. Sam Crouse bid $215 per acre for 80 acres north of the highway. Herman Meyer paid $245 per acre for 120 acres south of the highway. Merle Johnson bought the residence for $1500.

Truck Driver Narrowly Escapes Injury

Mrs William Thompson Dies After Prolonged Illness
Mrs. William Thompson, 56, died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital Grand Island after a five year illness and 22 months bedridden. Funeral was held Wednesday at Trinity Methodist Church Grand Island with burial at Blue Ridge Cemetery north of Gresham. She is survived by her husband a Washington DC daughter Twila Lindesmith and son Dean of Kearney State Teachers College and three grandchildren. Brother Lee Campbell of Osceola was her sibling. The Thompsons formerly lived in Osceola where Mr Thompson was superintendent of public schools.
