Races drew large attendance at the Polk County Fair Grounds though one day of programming was cancelled due to weather. Alleged liquor sale leads to arraignment in Nebraska county court
In Columbus Nebraska on September 5 Frank Sempeck a youth from near Duncan was accused of illegally selling liquor to boys. State Deputy Cal Broady held him in Columbus jail overnight and he pled guilty in county court. His father John Sempeck paid a $100 fine plus costs.

Elvera Brown and Gladys Johnson led Polk county club workers to the state fair in Lincoln where they won first prize in their division and the home economics championship, earning a trip to Sioux City for inter state competition with teams from Wyoming North Dakota Nebraska Iowa Kansas and Missouri. Other Polk county winners included Ansel Fredrickson Ivan Sundberg Philip Johnson Ruth Brown Edith Burritt Grace Johnson and Grace Swanson with medals in poultry livestock and judging events.
