Bulldog Band Captures Two at Pershing Contest
The OHS Marching Band earned a two rating in Class C at Pershing Auditorium Lincoln after competing with 11 other Class C schools. Sutton Springfield Plattview also earned ones, while Gretna Stanton and Tecumseh received threes. Duane Johnson of Lincoln East chaired the Pershing contest and is remembered as an OHS music teacher from 1954 to 1956.

At the Osceola Chamber of Commerce meeting on Monday eleven members approved Christmas decorations set for installation November 22 and 23 and holiday promotion days on December 6 13 and 20. They voted to boost prize money for Christmas drawings and considered but dropped a car crushing raffle. Plans also aim to improve the Highway Directory sign use and invite community notices. The next meeting is scheduled for November 24.
