Postmaster Snider reports a Guggenheim Fund suggestion to place the town name atop a tall building. Col. Lindbergh proposed airport visibility for travelers, aiming to mark Osceola or other towns from the air as traffic grows. The Monson Block roof is proposed for the display.

Mr and Mrs Arvid Anderson visited the Will Zimmerman home on Thursday. C J Augustine of Shelby bought cattle locally. Walter Morys and Lee Mickey assisted Fred Dunn with carpentry last week. Carrie Morys returned from Osceola for the weekend. Emma and Hilda Nebosis attended a Duncan dance with brothers and plan a masquerade next Sunday. The Bauer family from Lincoln visited, with Mrs Farris of Osceola accompanying them for an indefinite stay. Gustaf Kopf called at Silver Creek, and Alice Schott returned from Shelby after visiting Dr J Augustine. Leo and Mrs Kresha were hosted near Silver Creek. Frank Cutser called on Harry Hennings. The Gus Kopf family visited Will Zimmerman. Farmers with help are busy in fields though some sowing wheat continues. Will Zimmerman is recovering and largely mobile but not fully well.

The fifth annual Polk County Federated Women's Clubs convention met October 19 at the Osceola Methodist Church. Officers elected: President Lillian Boostrom, Vice President Lloyd Timm, Secretary Esther Lackey, Treasurer Wilhelm Thelen. Talks covered federation selling ideas and a San Antonio convention report. Baby conference planned for November. Scholarship Loan Fund March raised 13.52 dollars.

The Victor Club convened its first meeting of the year at Mrs. Chas. Austin’s home on October 17 with nine members and five visitors present. Plans were made to form new clubs, elect a club reporter, and attend the Oscesla meeting on October 19. Mrs. Austin and Mrs. Gabel led the lesson on the new project, inventories of laundry equipment were planned, lunch was served, and the next gathering was scheduled for November 21 at Mrs. Gabel’s home.
