Andrew F Nuquist born 1872 in Moline Illinois son of Swedish immigrants lived in Stromsburg Nebraska Polk County for decades. He served as sheriff of Polk County 1898 to 1902 helped found Polk County Telephone Company and later led Osceola Bank and First National Bank Osceola retiring in 1943. He died October 19 1946 in an Osceola auto crash. He left wife Maud Edgerton Nuquist and four children plus seven grandchildren and a brother Elmer T Nuquist of Omaha. Funeral services were held October 22 at Osceola Methodist Church with burial in Osceola cemetery.

Sarah Maretta Burritt was born in Meaford Ontario on June 22 1866 and died October 18 1946 in Shelby Nebraska. She moved with family to Cedar Rapids Iowa then homesteaded southwest of Shelby before marrying Wilbur J Brigham in 1884. Survived by three sons two brothers three sisters five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral was Sunday at 2 30 pm at the Shelby Methodist Church with burial in Shelby cemetery.
