The Beginners Band now has 25 young musicians with new members Rita Kresha Jill Gross nicklaus and Kenneth Esau. The Advanced Band awaits a Junior Play appearance and a short concert before the play. The girls sing between acts as three snare racks and a bass drum beater were purchased. Forrest Corn of Columbus Music Co supplied the racks and a theater, praising the beginners band. The Stromsburg band schedules a fall concert October 27 at 8 pm to raise funds for new uniforms.

Hilda Christine Nelson widow of Nils Nelson formerly of Osceola and 20 years in Glendale California was buried last Tuesday at Stromsburg cemetery beside her husband after a Lutheran church service. Born October 5 1874 on the Swede Home homestead she was 75 years 11 months and 29 days. Surviving are sister Mrs Sam Kepner Glendale brother Albert Stromsburg son David W and wife Laurene Detroit granddaughter Shirley. She was active in her church and community and known for her friendly nature.
