Osceola Bulldogs roll past Silver Creek for 13–0 win

Osceola opened with an 80 yard drive plus a 13–0 lead as Kenny Bowe sneaked in from the 1. The Bulldogs dominated Tigercats with 229 rushing yards and 22 passing while holding Silver Creek to 22 total yards.

Teachers meet for institute in Osceola

Polk county teachers gathered at the Osceola Methodist church on Friday October 15 for an elementary teachers institute led by county superintendent Mrs Betty Majors. Morning talks on public relations featured Dr William E Hall of the University of Nebraska and Thomas E Harding.

Social Security numbers sought for farm program payments

Farmers receiving payments in farm action programs are asked to report identifying Social Security numbers. A form titled Request for Identifying Number Farmer and a postage paid return envelope were mailed to known producers. Beginning Jan 1, 1966 the numbers will be entered on payment drafts and reported to the Internal Revenue Service.

Bloodmobile to be at Stromsburg Nov 1 at Salem Lutheran

The Bloodmobile will be in Stromsburg at the Salem Lutheran church on November 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The notice urges donations, cites Red Cross programs and scripture, and frames giving blood as life saving and moral duty.
