Prizes Set For Polk County Huskers Contest
The Polk County Husking Contest offers prizes from a leather coat to wool shirts and mittens. The event will be at the Osceola skating rink with a noon hitch demonstration and a one hour husking duration. Contestants supply their own gear and state rules follow Nebraska Farmer Publication guidelines.

The Happy Hour Society gathered at Mrs. Emma Jovarr's residence on October 6 with 18 members and no visitors. Osceola Woman's Club held its second regular meeting on Monday evening October 17. Delegates to the state convention will report at a special meeting November 1 at Mrs Oscar Anderson’s home. The club observed Sun day before Thanksgiving as Club Church Day with members asked to attend any church. About forty members attended the Polk County convention at Shelby. Mae Merrick was elected county federation president and W R Kepner vice president. The dramatic department presented The Kleptomaniac, to good reception.

The new pipe organ for St. Pauls Ev Lutheran Church arrived this week and workmen are assembling the big instrument. Parts fill an entire carload and weigh about twelve tons. It is planned to have the organ ready for use in about two weeks. Silas Miller left last week for Millerton to spend the winter with his daughter Mrs Oscar Blevins.
