Osceola Meeting Discusses Tax Limitation Amendment
Osceola Osceola Community Club held a special session at the Osceola Hotel where Chas Stewart of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation spoke in favor of a constitutional amendment on tax limitation. He said it would cap farm levies at 7 mills and city levies at 15 mills if approved next year, in addition to existing bond retirements. Eight states have similar limits with a proven track record.

Mrs Wm Pike of Lovillia Iowa dies in a Iowa City hospital after several weeks of illness from a severe heart attack. She is survived by her husband two daughters a sister Retta Brigham of Shelby and a brother W A Burritt of Osceola. Funeral services were held at Marysville Iowa on Sunday October 15 with Mrs Retta Brigham and Lynn Brigham attending from the locality.

Polk County will be represented by four 4-H members as 1,047 prize baby beeves compete at Ak-Sar-Ben coliseum in Omaha.
