Pamela Susan Watts weighing seven pounds three ounces born Monday October 15 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital. Parents Rex and Mrs Watts previously have three daughters and a son.

Elmer Yates will visit to solicit funds for Nebraska Children's Home Society, a 64 year old agency serving the entire state from Omaha. Trustee Wm Reutlinger notes the need for added support to expand adoption, temporary care, emergency services, and counseling for unwed or expectant mothers. Osceola edged Polk 7 to 6 Friday night in a comeback victory. D Swanson scored the tying and go-ahead TD with a successful extra point, while Bryan added a larger run wiped out by a penalty. The win boosts Osceola ahead of the Genoa game Friday at 8 p.m.
Joe Roberts, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Roberts, is among 52 Lincoln Journal carriers recognized as outstanding for 1956. Recipients are chosen for academic standing, citizenship, route performance, and six months of service. This is his second award, which includes a trophy, a merit certificate, a shoulder patch, and a lapel button. David Anderson and Wallace Burgeson of Stromsburg also received the honor.
Eight members of the local Methodist Youth Fellowship attended the District Youth Rally in Columbus on Sunday.
