An off duty nurse and Lincoln city fireman administered CPR to Otto Olson after a heart attack on Nance Street. Their rapid response, with hospital transport and oxygen, followed by CPR Task Force aims, notes Osceola CPR classes and a local instructor.

Nebraska Hunters Urged to Buy Habitat Stamp in First Year

Nebraska Game and Parks officials report hunters and trappers must possess the $7.50 Habitat Stamp in the field. One stamp covers all hunting and trapping permits when signed and attached, with separate permits not requiring extra stamps if the stamp is already on a permit. Proceeds fund habitat improvements through the Habitat fund and natural resources districts.

The photographer contracted to take student pictures in the Osceola school system will be at the school next Tuesday October 18 all day. Parents of pre school children may have them photographed by bringing them to the Jeffrey Elementary office at 830 a.m. or 1230 p.m. per Superintendent Sipes.

Nebraska 4-H member DeVon Carlson wins National Congress trip

DeVon Carlson son of Mr and Mrs Rupert Carlson is among 33 Nebraska 4-H members awarded trips to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago November 26 to December 2. Carlson, a UNL freshman, earned the trip for field crops with a 4-H record including grand and reserve champion livestock and hog awards and leadership roles in his club.

City Pool Blueprints Unveiled at Park Board Meeting

Park Board and Osceola residents reviewed Bruce L. Gilmore & Associates blueprints for a new 276000 gallon pool, 110 by 82.5 feet, with diving area, wading pool, and six foot fence. Site shifts from tennis courts to accommodate an L shaped pool, bathhouse retained, parking between Boy Scout cabin and pool, project funded up to 194000 dollars with federal and state funds, construction to start next spring for 1978 season.

Osceola Fire Destroys Equipment Shed At Home

Firefighters were called to Leo nard Coffin home around 4 p.m. Saturday to a shed fire at Oswald Cerny property. Cause unknown. Local EMT volunteers from the original class, including Duane Schmo ker and Jim Lewis, met October 5 to review ambulance equipment and radio use as part of new mandatory emergency medical responder roles.

Scrappy Bulldogs Fall To Undefeated Henderson Huskies

Osceola’s football team lost 29 to 12 at Henderson as the Huskies piled up 255 rushing yards and four touchdowns by Randy Huebert. Joe Graham scored twice for Osceola on 2 and 68 yard runs, with Day passing for 75 yards. Henderson outgained Osceola 258 to 271 in total yards and forced seven Bulldog penalties. Osceola, now 4-2, hosts Silver Creek for Homecoming Friday.
