The Eastern Nebraska Farm Business Management Association plans to hire a second consultant to begin work in 1978. Gary Bredensteiner serves as the field man, visiting farms for better record keeping and tax matters. Lineman Brad Cain Opens New Chapter in Osceola

Brad Cain joins Nebraska Public Power District as a lineman after moving from McCook in mid August. He brings two years with Rural Electric Association in western Nebraska. He and wife Linda and daughter Jennifer recently bought the first house south of the post office from Maye Carter and enjoy hunting and athletics while settling into Osceola.

Osceola High School defeated Palmer 24 to 0 to improve to 4 and 1. Lyndon Wieseman starred with 12 points and 103 rushing yards, including a safety, a 5 yard TD run and two point conversion. Tracy Day added 40 rushing yards and a 13 yard TD, while Hiemer caught 64 receiving yards on two catches.

Knights of Columbus donate to Polk ARC and plan events

Shelby Osceola council 5383 presented 421.50 to Polk County Association for Retarded Citizens at a September meeting. State KC contributed 200 from the Tootsie Roll drive, received by LeEtta Kosch. The council hosted a trap shoot on September 25 and plans an open shoot October 3 at 12 30 p m, with bacon and ham prizes. Future events include contests, breakfasts, and a December 3 roller skating return.

Butler County ARC Plans Workshop

A workshop on monitoring educational programs will be held Wednesday October 12 at 8 00 p m in David City at 475 Third Street. All interested in learning more about monitoring programs such as Region V Agri Business public schools nursing homes day services group living residences are invited to attend. The workshop will be conducted by David Powell executive director of the Nebraska Association for Retarded Citizens and Dee Everett a member of the board of directors of the National Association for Retarded Citizens.

Erma Jones and Maude Magnuson of the Osceola Public Library received special certificates after a four day library science course at the Columbus Public Library on September 28. Sponsored by the Northern Library Network the program covered book repair children service cataloging and outreach. Osceola attendees included Glenna Wieseman Wyn Hill and Marlene Sterup. Jack Malek remains a patient in Lincoln Veterans Hospital. Severt Oquist is recovering from open heart surgery in Omaha.
