Nebraska Tax Plan Sets Personal Rate Near Ten Percent
Gov. Tiemann and the Nebraska Equalization Board propose a state income tax with about 10 percent for individuals and 2 percent for corporations. The plan bases personal tax on federal liability with credits and ties corporate levy to taxable income. The income tax starts Jan 1 1968 and includes wage withholding and quarterly payments for the self employed.
