Natalie Hahn to Start Six Month IFYE NZ Exchange
Natalie Diane Hahn of Polk Nebraska departs for a six month International Farm Youth Exchange mission in New Zealand. She will rotate among host families and send about ten letters describing experiences, learnings, and impressions from life as an unofficial ambassador abroad. Hahn attends University of Nebraska majoring in Home Economics and Journalism and will record her thoughts on a tape recorder for home transmission.

Peterson wins Armchair Quarterback Contest

Wesleyan marching band performs at Vikings Cardinals game
Connie Wagner, daughter of Raymond Wagner, is among 90 in the Wesleyan Marching Band at the October 8 half time show in Minnesota. The band will also perform at a Chicago game the last weekend of October. A Social Security representative from Lincoln visits Osceola October 23 on the courthouse second floor from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Medicare helps pay doctor bills in any setting.

The Osceola Band won its fifth I rating at the Harvest of Harmony event in Grand Island, with I ratings also awarded to Lincoln Pius X Aurora Genoa and Shelby. Dennis Muehling leads the Osceola Band as director as the group competes against classes A B C and D.

Bulldogs crush Silver Creek 44 in Homecoming win
Osceola's Bulldogs overwhelmed Silver Creek 44 to 12 on Friday. The Tigers showed flashes with two fourth quarter 40 yard passes to Bill Cash and Jim Gonsier but managed only 36 rushing yards and 2 first downs. Osceola piled up 288 rushing yards and 171 passing yards as Cerny connected with Augustin and Gissler, while Eklund starred on offense and defense. The Bulldogs travel to Polk Friday then host Palmer, before closing the season at Genoa.
