County Women’s Club Convention Held in Osceola
The Polk County Federated Women’s Club held its annual convention at the Osceola Presbyterian Church on Friday October 4 with 112 attendees including junior members and visitors. Mrs. C W Walgren presided as county president. program featured singing, devotionals, talks on art and international relations, a playlet, musical numbers, and reports. Osceola school board filled a high school vacancy by drawing names from glucose capsules placed in a hat with blanks. Edgar E. Roberts of Dustin, Nebraska was selected to replace Andrew E. Inquist, who resigned to join the University of Wisconsin.

Divorce case challenges prison terms in Nebraska Supreme Court
Harry E. Siman told the Nebraska Supreme Court that no prior case matched the circums tances of Russell A. Studley and Darlene Studley who operated a Monach bank in Boyd County before its failure. Studley served three years and Darlene 1 to 10 years in York reformatory. Darlene later sued for divorce claiming prison as ground. Studley countered with his wife’s imprisonment, and a York reformatory denial was raised. The court took the matter under advisement.

Polk Man Killed in Rockford Plane Crash
Wallace Ang of Polk, 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ang, died in a Rockford Illinois plane crash Sunday. He taught at a local aeroplane school and was with a student pilot at the controls. Both occupants died. Ang survived by his wife and parents. Funeral held in Rockford with the Angs traveling from Polk.

Polk County Fair Association members re elected President Louis Hastert of Shelby Vice President George Wieseman Secretary Jay Hastings and Treasurer Frank Anderson of Osceola along with the board of managers. Obituary of W. W. Scott in Osceola Methodist rites
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Osceola Methodist Church for Walter W. Scott who died October 1 1925 at St. Francis Hospital Grand Island. He was 58 with a long illness. Born August 12 1877 in Knox County Illinois he moved to Polk County Nebraska in 1883 and later lived in Grand Island. He married Victoria Michlunka in 1907 and leaves three sisters Mrs Agnes McDonald Mrs J W Corbett Mrs I J Merrick and two brothers Wm and J D Scott of Shelby.
