Fleming died Sunday at 10 20 a m at her son H E Fleming’s Osceola home He was 97 years 2 months 18 days old Her life spanned from Wilna New York born July 17 1833 to Hermon St Lawrence County New York her marriage June 3 1855 and long service in Wisconsin Iowa and Nebraska She leaves a daughter Lela Smith Grand Junction Colorado two sons Howard E Fleming Osceola and Robert P Fleming died 1921 a veteran seven grandchildren a brother and sister in New York Funeral services were held Tuesday at the M E church with Rev Handel Collier officiating and Osceola Cemetery interment

Prairie Island to Hordville Road Built by Local Effort
Citizens of Hamilton and Merrick counties joined to build a graveled road between Prairie Island and Hordville. The 780 feet of surfacing cost about 2000 dollars, using 16 teams and dynamite to clear trees and hills.
