Osceola routs St Paul 88 to 0 in football clash

Osceola overwhelmed St Paul 88 to 0 on their home field last Friday. Rex carried for 25 yards on an early end run as Osceola opened with a quick score and dominated with aerial plays. Pat caught 11 of 12 passes and Smith 3 of 3 to fuel the attack. Cox added a 38 yard drop kick in the third period.

Mildred Weerlen, 25, was taken to York Saturday at 11 P.M. and operated on that night for appendicitis. Members of her class and the YWCA visited Tuesday and report she is recovering well.

The Swede Home choir of 24 members directed by Mrs. Carl Cederberg presented a successful Thursday evening program at Swede Home church. Attendees filled the house and receipts topped $10. Obituary for Uncle Joe Williams Pioneer Resident of Polk County

Uncle Joe Williams died Tuesday evening October 7 at 7 o clock after years of heart trouble and illness. He was born October 7 1847 at Wapello Iowa and died on his 77th birthday. He married Nancy Wykert October 23 1870. they celebrated their golden wedding four years ago this month. Survived by his widow two sons Oscar and Franklin Williams and daughter Mrs G E McBride of Cleveland Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at the M E church under Rev H A Tayor with Masonic rites. interment in Osceola cemetery.

Death of Chris Behle Leads Community Through Sorrow

Word arrived of Chris Behle's death in Denver Colorado. He was born in Germany in 1858 and lived in Illinois Nebraska and Polk County before settling in Osceola. He leaves four daughters Valen tine Merlin Bertha Merlin E A Boostrom and Julia Rehle along with a brother and sister. He was active in Grace M F church and held local positions of responsibility.

Wreck Injures Mrs Stumpf in Benedict Auto Crash

A. W. Stumpf of Clarks drives a Cadillac with Mrs. Stumpf and two other women when a blown tire sends the car into a ditch near Benedict Tuesday. The vehicle rolled, one occupant was pinned, but all were treated in Benedict for non serious injuries and continued to Lincoln.
