The men’s furnishings department of the C. A. Olson Company is sold to George D. and Chas. M. Humphrey of York. The deal closed Tuesday. New owners plan immediate restocking and invoicing. George D. Humphrey brings six years at Earl Williams in York. Chas. M. Humphrey has years of retail experience with Nebraska Gas & Electric Co. The brothers intend to move their families here soon.

Achievement Day planned in Folk county October 9
A county-wide Achievement Day is planned by Folk county women for October 9 at 1 30 PM in the American Legion Hall. William Everett was arrested by Sheriff Van Hoosen on a liquor possession charge. He pled not guilty before Judge Ball, $100 fines on two counts totaling $200 were assessed. The liquor was found on the D. H. Mace Property on Gospel Ridge where Everett kept hogs, with indications of a blind pig.

Nancy A. Burgess, 82, died suddenly from heart trouble at her Osceola home last Saturday. Born August 23 1842 in County Antrim Ireland, she came to America at nine, lived in Ohio and Illinois, married John Burgess, moved to Nebraska in 1880, later to Yakima Washington, then returned to Osceola. Survived by sons Edd of Los Angeles and JR of Osceola. husband died July 26 last year. Burial Tuesday after services led by Rev T A Barr.
