Osceola hires 1966 Nebraska grad Paul Schreiter as first full time art instructor
Paul Schreiter, a 1966 University of Nebraska graduate, joins Osceola District 19 as its first full-time art teacher. The Holdrege native earned a BFA in Education with majors in Art and English and has taught at Newman Grove Springfield and Valley. He will teach 7th and 8th grade art, a mixed-level high school art class, and a senior speech class, and will advise at the grade school level.

Osceola High School honors Barbara L. Mills and Evan F. Wieseman for high performance on the 1969 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They join about 39,000 nationwide in the upper two percent of expected graduates for 1970, just below the 15,000 semifinalists announced earlier. Milk Tank Crash Leaves No Milk Spilled
A milk tank truck and a local farm truck crashed Friday afternoon on Hiway 30 A west of town. The tank truck left the road, rolled down a steep embankment, and split the cab from the tank in a ditch but no milk spilled. The milk truck struck the right side while attempting to pass a turning farm truck. the cab windows were blown out. The driver was uninjured and Kenneth Anderson the farmer was not hurt.
