Heart Attack Fatal Claims Osceola Resident Frank Shelmadine

Frank Shelmadine of Osceola died suddenly at home on Friday afternoon at age 83 years, 5 months and 3 days. He was a mason by trade, married to Dardelle Hefflegower in 1893, and survived by five children, two brothers, two sisters, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Osceola Methodist Church with interment in Osceola cemetery.

Shelby farmer Lynn Brigham lost four fingers of his right hand in a corn picker Friday morning. He is recovering at St. Francis Hospital in Osceola.

Corn loan period set by CCC for 1946 crop

The Commodity Credit Corp announces corn loan availability from December 1 to July 31, 1947. Loans in June and July apply to shelled corn with moisture not above 13.5 percent. loan price is 1.06 dollars per bushel for No 3 or better. Winter loans require moisture not above 20.5 percent. a sealing fee of 0.14 dollars per bushel applies with a $3 minimum. See AAA office for details.

County AA Committeemen Election Held at Osceola Courthouse

The annual election of County AA Committeemen was held at the Osceola courthouse on November 23. Officials elected were Herman A. Jones as Chairman Lee F. Campbell as Vice Chairman and Earl O.
