Birkel and Albers Wed in David City Church Nuptials

Miss Josephine Birkel and Lawrence Albers were married at St. Marys Church David City by Rev Fr William Murphy. The ceremony included a nuptial high mass and double ring vows. The couple will reside on Alberss Osceola area farm after a reception for 35 and a dance at Ellers hall.

Troop 152 Boys Shine At Meridian District Court of Honor

Eleven members of Troop 152 Osceola attended the Meridian District Court of Honor in Stromsburg on November 18. Ten boys advanced from Tenderfoot to Second Class. Robert Hansen earned a Bugling merit badge. the Scoutmaster earned two merit badges for Wood Work and Wood Turning.

Lutherans schedule 1000 Sunday School and Bible classes and 1100 Morning Service led by Prof Samuelson of Luther College Wathoo. Polk County Irrigation Project Opens on Benson Farm

The Gilbert Benson farm southwest of Polk started operation of a six thousand dollar irrigation system Monday. A $2600 diesel powered motor pumps 13 800 gallons per minute from a 160 foot well through trenches and ditches to corn rows, six rows at a time. Visitors praised the modern methods and Benson’s faith in Polk County’s future grows with more wells planned nearby. Football and community notes follow with local events and visits across the area.
