Osceola Defeats Stromsburg 13 6 in Holiday Classic

Osceola, led by co captains Art Wieseman and Murray Crouse, beat Stromsburg 13 to 6 on Stromsburg field. Osceola surged 40 yards to a score, with Crouse crossing early and Wieseman converting a late touchdown after an earlier nullified score. The home team tied 6 6 before Osceola pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Obituary of Nancy Ann Wykert Williams

Nancy Ann Wykert Williams was born November 29 1854 in Whapelle Iowa and died November 15 1937 at her Osceola home. She married Joseph K Williams October 25 1870 and they settled in Polk County November 25 1870. Surviving are three sons Elijah H Caldwell Idaho Oscar and Franklin Osceola, a brother T A Wykert Columbus Junction and sisters Charlotte Spaford Seguin Washington Ida Oesterreicher Rising City, plus four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral at Osceola Methodist Church led by Rev Albert C Monkman with Seth W Longacre assisting. interment Osceola cemetery.

Jury awards 1080 to Holt County plaintiff in domestic suit

A district court jury found Herbert Richardson of Holt County awarded 1080 in a suit against Leo M Warner of Osceola. Richardson sought 2000 for care of Warner's minor sons who lived with the Richardsons since 1930 divorce. The verdict reflects statutory limits.
