A capacity Osceola Rivoli Theatre crowd attended a joint 4-H and Nebraska Safety Council program last Monday from 10 to 12. Pupil overflow and rural residents watched acts by 4-H members and heard A L Stuart on safe driving. Awards included Sunshine Club trophy and gold pins for seven girls.

Former Resident Michael McCarty Dies in York at 88
Michael McCarty 88 died Sunday afternoon at his home 520 East Avenue York after years of ill health. He was born in King's County Ireland March 2 1848 and came to America with his family as a child. He moved to Nebraska in 1879 and farmed Polk County before retiring to York in 1911. He and Anna McCarty celebrated their golden 50th anniversary in 1929. Surviving are wife Anna five sons J G McCool J E York F P Lincoln Leo J Denver Albert York two daughters Mrs W M McDermitt Grand Island and Miss Annette McCarty York 17 grandchildren two great grandchildren Funeral at St Josephs Church York completed with interment at St Josephs Cemetery southeast of York.
