Johnson Sands Wedding At Stromsburg Evangelical Church
Miss Mildred Johnson daughter of Osceola and Clarence P. Sands son of Marquette were married at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stromsburg on November 12. Ministers Simon Carlson and Smithberg officiated. The ceremony featured fern and white chrysanthemum decor and a procession with ushers Monson and Nelson. Bride wore white satin princess gown with train and veil. A reception followed for about 100 guests, after which the couple departed for a western states trip. Out of town guests included Sands and Johnson families from Marquette, Axtell, Aurora, Geneva and more.

Mrs John McBeth Pioneer of Polk County Dies at 87
Margaret Eleanor Rogertson McBeth born December 2 1851 at Waynesburg Ohio married John McBeth March 19 1874. They moved to Nebraska in 1876 and lived on a Polk County homestead for sixty one years. She died November 6 1938 aged 87 years 11 months 4 days leaving seven living children twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home with Revs Pengelly and Longacre. interment Osceola cemetery.

4-H Club Awards Highlight Polk County Gathering
At the Friday 4-H event in the Methodist Church basement Polk County 4-H leaders and 150 members celebrated with songs talks and award announcements. Howard Peterson presented county awards to 4-H members including Betty Leigh McMeekin Orville Jones Glen Hennings and Marjorie Glasser among others. The year total 273 members saw 90 percent complete projects, and a moving picture of the county fair parade was shown.
