Osceola marked Armistice Day with a 2:00 parade from the high school to the A. R. Hall led by students, Boy Scouts, G A R members, W R C and ex servicemen. The afternoon program featured Rev Taylor, a Legion quartet, C C Frazier address, and an open house at the rebuilt G A R Hall with community groups aiding. About 150 attended the Carnival dance at the G A R Hall with radio program, punch and wafers served by Camp Fire Girls.

Pony Willets of Clarks says he cast his 17th ballot for a Republican candidate for President. He has voted in every election since 1860 and has never supported the Democratic ticket. Willets was 85 years old on July 18, 1924.

Obituary of William McBeth Civil War veteran in Nebraska
William McBeth born December 25 1837 in County Londonderry Ireland. He served twenty one years in the British Army before settling in the United States and enlisting in the 3rd Ohio Light Artillery. He fought at Fort Donelson Shiloh Vicksburg and the March to the Sea. He lived in Knox and Polk counties Illinois and Nebraska raising seven children. He died November 10 1924 at age 86 in Sherman County Nebraska. Funeral services were held November 14 1924 conducted by J F Reynolds Post G A R with Presbyterian church rites. He was an elder in the Presbyterian church and a charter member of the J F Reynolds Post.

Albert H Heinemeyer of Evanston Illinois died at a hospital on Tuesday November 11. The funeral is set for Friday November 14 at 10 30 AM from the M E church with Rev H A Taylor officiating. He was born December 4 1869 in Somerset County Pennsylvania and moved with family to Polk County Nebraska marrying Blanche Beebe December 24 1898. Survived by his wife Blanche and son Floyd LaVerne. The family earlier lived on a Beulah area farm and later settled in Osceola where he served as deputy county treasurer under C O Johnson. Decisive relocation to Evanston follows.

Car Collision Near Swede Home Injures Two. One Pleads Guilty
Westbound Kansas car collided with an unlit eastbound car carrying John Knowles and F C Byrd near Swede Home last Thursday.
