G O P Wins in State and National Polls Tuesday
The 1924 election results show Polk county voting strongly for the Republican ticket. Norris beat Thomas while Norton carried his home county. McLaughlin lost by 500 votes in some precincts but was elected countywide. Perry Reed won state senate, George Bond defeated Hansona for county assessor, and Keck and Campbell won small majorities. The referendum was decisively defeated statewide.

Society notes celebrate Bide-a-wee ten years with Halloween event
The Bide-a-wee Club marked its tenth anniversary with a surprise party at Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Latsch home last Thursday. Three charter members Mesdames Chas Hansen J L Heald and Millie Dahlberg were honored by ghosts and a Halloween program. The evening featured games prizes a lunch and chrysanthemums for guests. The Gadalots hosted a masked dinner party with whist and a Halloween decor theme at the G A R Hall. The Women’s Club Music Dept meets Nov 12 to study realism of France. The Tanda Campfire met at guardian Mrs Wilber Olson house. Merry Workers and Ladies Aid groups scheduled gatherings this week.
