Polk County voters cast 3124 ballots in the general election. Honor Society Adds Members At Osceola High

The Osceola High School National Honor Society chapter under Social Studies teacher Jon Habben selected new members based on freshman year performance and current GPA. Eligible sophomores must average 95 percent while juniors and seniors need 90 percent, then character leadership and activities determine final membership. New inductees include Bonnie Noble Susan Kaczor JoAnn Schacher Jean Soukup Amy Johnson Melanie Oquist Deb Bryan Sheryl Schott Bernadine Nitsch. Achievement Day Honored Members in Shelby and Osceola

Polk County Home Extension Club leaders met in Shelby for a noon luncheon and fall council meeting on November 8. Osceola Board Begins Term With City, Title IV Plans

Osceola Board of Education met in regular session at the high school and approved bills and the annual audit by McDermott Miller. New members will sit in December. ESU 7 in Columbus will host an in service meeting December 1. Title IV funds will support an outdoor classroom study developed with Upper Big Blue NRC.
